Celebrating the achievement of winning a Most Wanted Award, presented by Kitchens & Bathrooms News, for its Rainshower with SmartControl, Grohe is offering one as a prize to a lucky reader. The shower, which offers on/off and volume control at the touch of a button, was one of three bathroom products which received the highest number of reader enquiries in 2016.

Users simply select and start the spray pattern by pushing a button on the wall-mounted control, choosing either the head shower spray or the hand shower.Turning the button then allows the user to choose the strength and volume of the water flow.

The SmartControl value features a SafeStop button, which limits the water temperature to 38C, unless deliberately overridden and features TurboStat technology to ensure the temperature is maintained. In addition, it boasts CoolTouch to prevent the surface of the shower valve heating up, removing the risk of scalding.

Grohe SmartControl is available as part of a Rainshower system, comprising a head shower and hand shower set. It allows users to mix and match the spray patterns, which include PureRain Spray/Rain O2 Spray, TrioMassage spray, which combines two massage jets, and the Bokoma Spray. The lozenge-shaped showerhead has been designed to mirror the shoulders to provide optimum coverage of water, and measures 360mm. There is also a safety glass tray to hold shampoo, shower gel and other body care products.

As an alternative to the exposed installation, the head shower can also be mounted directly on to a wall and combined with a hand spray set. This can be achieved using water fittings, such as Grohtherm 3000 Cosmopolitan concealed thermostat with diverter.
