Grohe named finalist for Sustainability Award

Honoured for its commitment to resource efficiency

Brassware manufacturer Grohe has been named a finalist for a German Sustainability Award, following its award win as Top Innovator in the Top 100 Innovation Awards.

A jury of experts has shortlisted the company, as one of three finalists, in the Resource Efficiency category of the German Sustainability Award.

There were more than 800 entries for the Awards and the nominees were selected on their sustainability profiles and their sustainability performance along their value chains.

It resulted in a nomination of 14 companies and communities for their achievements in tackling the ecological and social challenges of the future.

Grohe not only operates a resource management system at all production sites, but has developed products which are water and energy-saving, including EcoJoy which is designed to consumer up to 50% lower water than standard. In addition, the judges particularly likes the Grohe Blue water system, which supplies chilled and filtered water,with a carbon footprint below that of bottled water.

Chief sales office at Grohe, Michael Rauterkus commented: “Our company is commited to promoting pure water enjoyment.” He continued: “For us, this also means that we bear a great responsibility for this unique natural resource. When taking decisions, we are very much aware of the sustainability implications and this awareness of sustainability is shared by all our employees.
