Alno applies to German court for insolvency

Alno AG, Alno Logistik GmbH and Gustav WellMann GmbH & Co. KG have applied to the German court for insolvency.

Alno AG, Alno Logistik GmbH and Gustav WellMann GmbH & Co. KG have applied to the German court for insolvency.

The factories, which represent 22.5% of Alno UK purchases, will not affect subsidiaries including the UK business and the Pino factory.

Following on from this application an insolvency partner will be appointed as well as the local German Government will step-in to ensure continued payment of the German staff.

The practitioner will seek to restructure the affected business and will also appoint a chief restructuring officer and chief administration officer to oversee the process.

However, the affected German factories are still operating, orders are continuing to be fuldilled and taken and Alno UK’s relationship with its logisitcs supplier means its delivery process is unaffected. 

A statement read: “The Alno UK directors are doing everything possible to dacilitate a smooth continuation of service for its business network and consumers”.
