Merchant has opened two Howarth at Home showrooms to target retail customers

Howarth Timber and Building Supplies has continued its programme of expansion, with the opening of two showrooms and one branch refurbishment.

The merchant has unveiled Howarth at Home showrooms at both its Corby and York branches, while its recently refurbished Dartford branch was reopened with a revised layout and exterior display area.

These follow the opening of Howarth at Home showrooms at the merchant’s Wakefield and Leeds branches, earlier this year.

Corby now showcases the company’s largest collection of Laura Ashley kitchens and bedrooms and the brand is also on display at the York showroom.

Commenting on the new and refurbished stores, Howarth at Home category manager Ratinder Sandu said: “The new Dartford store has moved away from looking like a traditional builder’s merchant to reflect the fact that the general public is welcome to browse alongside trade customers. And the new Laura Ashley range on display at our Corby and York stores reflects our increased focus on retail customers who want inspiration for their homes.

“We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible service and product range, and our investment in these stores underlines that commitment.”

The retail-inspired showrooms are sited on the merchant’s existing sites, with Howarth at Home opening its first high street location in Barrowford, Lancashire.
