Roca celebrates centenary

Exhibitions and seminars form part of year-long celebrations

Spanish bathroom manufacturer Roca is celebrating its 100th anniversary in a year-long initiative which includes two exhibitions and a programme of events.

They will trace Roca’s journey from its origins in 1917 as a family workshop in Barcelona to become a global bathroom company.

The first exhibition will take place at the Roca London Gallery, from March 2-July 29, and will take a look at its marketing over the years and how it has changed to meet changing attitudes, lifestyles and needs.

It will include historic advertising, publications, photography and design material and will focus on four values wellbeing, innovation, design and sustainability.

In addition, there will be free evening events at the venue to accompany the exhibition. These will include Brand or Bust, featuring a panel of experts who will discuss how brands are created and a seminar Emotional Branding in a Digital Age, which will look at the latest trends in emotional branding in architecture and interior design.

A second exhibition, later in the year, will focus on the company’s product design history.
