UK Plumber of the Year shortlist announced

UK Plumber of the Year competition has announced the 15 shortlisted finalists for this years’ competition.

The UK Plumber of the Year competition, launched by JT, Bristan and Plumb Center, has announced the 15 shortlisted finalists who will all compete for the title and £10,000 worth of prizes.

Now it in its third year, the competition was devised to reward and recognise the talents within the UK’s plumbing industry and asks entrants to demonstrate thier plumbing, service and business skills.

This year saw a record number of entries, shortlisted by the official judging partner of the competition Watersafe, with the next stage seeing the public vote for their preferred UK Plumber of the Year.

The 15 shortlisted finalists are as follows:

  • Chris Ketchen – Havant, Portsmouth
  • Paul Maguire – Glasgow
  • Gareth Lloyd – Hereford
  • Thomas Foster – Dundee
  • Ian Duerden – Oldham
  • Tom Jenkins – Treorchy, Glamorgan
  • Lewis Page – Edinburgh
  • Phil Myers – Huyton, Liverpool
  • Drew Styles, Wugan
  • Chloe Cook – Chatham, Kent
  • Ian Thorner – Telford, Shropshire
  • Liam Smith – Widnes
  • Scott Duncan – Huntly, Aberdeenshire
  • Stuart Eldridge – Rainham, East London
  • Daniel Airzee – Blackawton, Devon

The five plumbers with the most votes will be invited to an interview session with the judging panel, made up of experts from JT, Bristan and Watersafe, who will then decide the winner.

Mangaing director of JT Paul Crossley commented: “We’re now in the third year of the competition and I genuinely believe this is the strongest shortlist we have had. The exposure the competition has gained is bigger than ever which has led to an increase in entries.
