Peter Andrew of House Building Federation named in New Years Honours list

Deputy chairman of the House Builders Federation Peter Andrew has been presented an MBE, in the Queen’s New Years’ Honours list, in recognition of his services to construction.

Andrew started as a company quantity surveyor at George Wimpey and during a 40 year career progressed to become land and planning director and a board member for Taylor Wimpey UK. He was also one of four practioners to draft the National Planning Policy Framework for then Planning Minister Greg Clark. 

Andrew is a council member of the National House Building Council, chairman of Burrington Estates, a West Country developer, and advises a number of developers including the Dorchester Group.

The construction industry also saw honours presented to Marc Vlessing CEO of Pocket Living, developer of one bedroom affordable apartments, who was awarded an OBE for services to housing delivery.

Chairperson of building firm Qmac Construction Rhona Quinn FCIOB was also presented an OBE for services to the construction industry in Northern Ireland.
