Chairman of Supervisory Board will step down and become honourary chair

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hansgrohe Klaus Grohe, 77, will step down following more than 30 years in the role.

He will be succeeded by Klaus Jaenecke, 59, who has been on the Supervisory Board since March 2014.

Son of Klaus, Pierre Nicolas Grohe, 39, will run for election in the Supervisory Board, as a representative of Syngroh, the holding company of the Klaus Grohe family.

Klaus Grohe will continue to be closely linked to the company as honourary chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Recently appointed chairman of the Executive, Thorsten Klapproth commented: “With entrepreneurial vision, his passion for the element of water, and his enthusiasm for innovation, Klaus Grohe and his team have succeeded in reinventing Hansgrohe time and again – and, in doing so, they gave a great deal of key impetus to the development of bathrooms across the globe.”

He continued: “Under Klaus Grohe’s leadership, the company developed from a small German drainage specialist into the most innovative global player in the sanitation industry.”

Klaus Grohe is the youngest son of Hans Grohe, the founder and he joined hisfather’s company in 1968. Initially placed in charge of sales, Klaus Grohe took over the management of the company in 1975, a position which – following the conversion into a non-listed stock corporation – he held until 2008. He has since been Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

It was under Klaus Grohe leadership’s that the company started to collaborate with external designers such as Philippe Starck.
