Online replacement kitchen door business Kitchen Door Workshop is celebrating its move to an employee-ownership model this month, following the likes of John Lewis & Partners.
After 23 years of family ownership, founders Robert and Lis Clark wanted to enable their employees to share in the success of the business, while also providing a long-term legacy for their own family.
Robert Clark said: “Employee ownership means our staff enjoy greater job security and gives them a share in the financial success of the business, as they will benefit equally from any profits.

“This is great for the morale, motivation and the well-being of the team, and it helps us to attract and retain the very highest-calibre people.
“But it’s not just us who benefit from employee ownership – it means everyone is committed to delivering the very best experience for our customers.
“In short, Employee Ownership is great news for all our stakeholders: founding owners, staff, and customers.”
