Franke splits from Cooper Callas

Distribution agreement ends on May 1, 2016

Sink, tap and cooker hood manufacturer Franke has announced its distribution agreement with Cooper Callas will end on May 1, 2016.

Franke will only be available in the UK and Ireland through Waterline, Sinks & Things, Swift Electrical, PJH Group, Forth & Clyde in Scotland, Bodel in Northern Ireland and Kitchen Accessories in the Republic of Ireland.

The company’s products also used to be sold through BCG but that partnership also came to an end in 2014, despite Franke announcing it as its Distributor of the Year in 2009.

Managing director of Franke UK Neil Clark said: “Franke are not in a position to make any further comment at this time.”

However, Cooper Callas suggested its renewed focus on bathrooms, rather than kitchens, has been the reason behind the termination of the agreement. 

Managing director of Cooper Callas Phillip Carr commented: “During the last 12 months we have continued the consolidation of manufacturers that Cooper Callas represents as we become increasingly more focused on the bathroom environment. We believe our customers want a more dedicated supplier of bathrooms, therefore we have to be more specific about which brands we represent.”
