The Electrolux Group has been recognised with four RedDot Design Awards across its AEG product ranges, including kitchen appliances.

AEG presented four RedDot Design Awards

They have been presented for the Matt Black Kitchen Collection, Care Drum, AX7 and AX5 air purifiers and QX6/QX7/QX8 stick cleaner.

Launched at Kbb Birmingham, the Matt Black Kitchen Collection uses an etching process to create a matt glass fascia, which boasts a fingerprint finish.

The Care Drum has been designed to minimise consumers mistrust of washing machines to cater for “delicates” and will be integrated into AEG laundry products, globally, from 2022.

It boasts an elevated drum pattern and optimised lifter paddle to reduce clothing abrasion, with a thin film of water covering holes during washing to provide a gentle laundry process.

The drum will be integrated into washer and dryer products produced in Europe (Poland and Italy), APAC (Thailand) and Mexico (for the North American market).

Chief design officer at Electrolux Pernilla Johansson commented: “A RedDot award ranks as one of the most coveted in the world of product design.

“Designing an outstanding experience is at the heart of everything we do at Electrolux. We thrive when connecting foresight and creativity in an iterative, research-based approach.

“I’m very proud of the teams that we have been recognised for bringing our design philosophy, ‘Human Touch’, to life.”

General manager at Electrolux UK & Ireland Luke Harding added: “We are absolutely delighted to win not just one but four RedDot awards for design excellence across our AEG product range.

“Our aim with AEG appliances is to not only exceed our consumers’ technical requirements but also to fit seamlessly into their homes.

“A focus on sleek product design and aesthetics, alongside innovative technology, allows us to provide a fully premium experience to consumers.”

The Electrolux Group, which includes Electrolux, AEG and Frigidaire brands sell 60 million household appliances across 120 markets each year.

In 2020, Electrolux had sales of SEK 116 billion and employed 48,000 people around the world.
