Kitchen appliance brand AEG used the recent Kbb Birmingham exhibition to reconnect with its kitchen retailers and preview its hob with extractor, which it is launching in June 2022.

Head of kitchen retail and contracts at AEG Gordon Dawson commented: “Essentially, we are looking to reconnect with our kitchen studio partners, having been working from home and not on the road over the last two years.”

The company also used the event to showcase its matt black range of appliances, which it launched at Kbb Birmingham in 2020.

Gordon Dawson said AEG wasn’t “hunting” for new business because of the super-high demand for appliances.

He explained: “Our key priority is to look after the kitchen studios we’ve got at the moment and work closely with them over the coming months to try and manage the demand.”

In fact, he said supply chain issues was the most frequently asked question of the business at the show.

AEG: Reconnecting and supporting retailers

To support AEG retailers, the company has installed a dedicated kitchen studio sales supply manager to manage the flow of communication from the company.

It has developed bi-weekly webinars on supply chain issues and product availability and regular communication via its Premium Partner portal with announcements of lead times or products which have come into stock.

Dawson commented: “Whilst it is a very challenging situation, the feedback from studio partners and the retailers has been very positive. We’ll continue to give as much information as possible.

“Obviously it’s a very fluid situation. We’ve seen over the last few weeks further difficulties but from our side communication is key.”
