German kitchen furniture manufacturer celebrates anniversary

Established in a carpenter’s workshop in 1927, Alno is set to celebrate its 90th anniversary of trading this year.

It was founded by Albert Nothdruft who made kitchens at a workshop at his parent’s home in the village of Wangen, Germany. Now the company produces 300,000 kitchens annually and exports to 6,000 partners in 64 countries worldwide.

Last year, alone, the company was presented an Excellent Product Design award for Alnocera in the German Design Awards, named Most Innovative Brand of the Year in the Plus X Awards and been named Brand of the Century.

In addition, it scooped the Superbrand status in 2016, having achieved the accolade in 2010, 2013 and 2014.
