CAD producer buys pricing and business management software company

Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom software producer ArtiCAD has acquired Smart Systems, a pricing and business management company for an undisclosed sum.

The companies have worked together, for some time, offering customers integrated design, pricing and management tools. However, ArtiCAD believes the acquisition will help it deliver greater access to manufacturers’ product catalogues.

Managing and technical director of ArtiCAD Richard Turner commented: “Our customers requested more supplier catalogues, enhanced pricing options and business management tools; this acquisition represents a major step towards delivering these goals.

“The synergy between our two companies and our approach to working with our customers in the KBB industry is virtually identical. Both ArtiCAD and Smart Systems are customer-centric and development-driven, and both companies have built strong track records in software innovation and technology ‘firsts’ that help retailers, designers and manufacturers to improve their operations and to sell more of their products and services. In fact, we are already starting to work on exciting new technology developments together.

“I am confident that this acquisition will deliver measurable benefits to both companies, to our existing mutual and future customers, and will support our significant plans for growth in the coming years.”

ArtiCAD, which was recently acquired by SHD, will continue to support customers using alternative pricing and business management software and Smart Systems will also support its customers using other CAD programmes.
