Beko is now the ‘number one large home appliance brand’, according to data from market research company Euromonitor.

The appliance manufacturer was awarded the title following its sales performance throughout 2018.

Head of marketing at Beko UK & Ireland Keval Shah commented: “We’re over the moon with this news that reflects a lot of hard work by the company as a whole and the consistent performance of Beko in the UK.

“We have been market leaders in both volume and value sales for three years now, and it is great to be able to state our number one position officially.”

He continued: “2018 was a phenomenal year of trading for us. We’ve been working tirelessly to support all our channels with bespoke marketing strategies to drive sales and it has really paid off.

“We are extremely grateful to all our customers for their efforts and loyalty over the last 29 years.”

Beko was presented a Safety Innovation Award in 2018 for adding flame retardant backs to all its refrigeration.

Established in the UK in 1990, Beko is owned by parent company Arcelik which is claimed to be the second largest company in the home appliances industry in Europe.

The Arecelik group has more than 60 years experience manufacturing and distributing home appliances and consumer electronics to 145 countries.
