Appliance manufacturer Bertazzoni has been entered into The National Register of Historical Italian Companies, which celebrates the country’s most-established brands.

Bertazzoni presented “far-reaching” legacy accolade

Set up by the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, it looks to recognise companies that have been established for over a century and use their heritage, values and knowledge to pass from one generation to the next.

Having celebrated 140 years of business in 2022, Bertazzoni is run by fifth and sixth generation family members.

Commenting on the announcement, CEO Paolo Bertazzoni said: “We are incredibly proud to have our heritage and business accomplishments recognised by such a prestigious national body.

“Our 140-year history has been centred on three core values; family, food and engineering and keeping this at the heart of everything we have done for all these years has led to our continued success.

“To see Bertazzoni now standing alongside some of our country’s most iconic businesses in the National Register of Historic Italian Companies is a major milestone for us and we want to take the opportunity to thank each and every individual involved in our journey since it began in 1882.”

Bertazzoni was founded by Francesco Bertazzoni in Guastalla, Emilia-Romagna region and is one of the oldest family-owned household appliance company in the country, holding one of the first industrial trademarks registered in Italy.

Now the company exports its appliances to more than 60 countries worldwide, which accounts for more than 90% of its turnover, and Bertazzoni recently exhibited for the first time in the UK.

Its production facility in Guastalla manufactures approximately 200,000 pieces per year and ended 2022 with a turnover of €121m.

Bertazzoni produces four collections, the Professional, Modern, Master and Heritage Series, with each featuring a suite of cooking appliances and cooling columns.

Paolo Bertazzoni concluded: “Although the register is exclusive to Italy, its message of heritage, quality and legacy is far reaching and one that is understood and appreciated by global markets.

“As we continue to expand in Italy and internationally, we will do so proudly with this accolade behind us.”
