As part of Blanco’s commitment to innovation, the kitchen sink and tap brand is  offering a sponsorship to a kitchen designer who wishes to enrole on the FDA Kitchen Design Course at Bucks New University .

Blanco is offering the selected student £2000 each year, contributing to the fees for the three-year course.

Since the inception of the kitchen design course in 2016, Blanco has sponsored two students and has gone on to support the first graduate in her continued development beyond the course.

The scholarship, which starts in September 2019, is designed to encourage those interested in kitchen design to gain  relevant skills and qualifications.

The course is delivered as a distance learning, work-related foundation degree, with intensive residential skills workshops included each year.

Celebrity interior designer Linda Barker presented at a residential course last year, urging students to find their own niche.

Speaking on the decision to continue its sponsorship of students, Blanco UK’s marketing manager John Robinson said “It made sense to us, from the very first year, to invest in the advancement of talent and design in the kitchen industry.

“We are a brand at the forefront of innovation; and this course is a great and welcome innovation which complements Blanco’s message and ethos.

“This is also why we get involved with awards and sponsorship generally. We want to make sure we are involved in the kitchen industry in all sorts of ways – including nurturing and supporting the future stars.

“We want people to aspire to work in this exciting industry and strive when they get here. It can only be beneficial to all of us.

“Blanco supports this exciting vocational qualification as we want to contribute as much as we can, promoting the design of kitchens and the fantastic products in it.”
