Day featured presentations on kitchen and bathroom market and how to diversify and grow sales in light side

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) held its inaugural Kitchens & Bathrooms Forum at Roca’s recently opened HQ in Leicester.

Newly-elected chairman Paul Bence, who is managing director of the George Bence Group, led the proceedings to 74 members.

The day included presentations focusing on the market for kitchens and bathroom retailers, and ways to enhance sales.

They included a BMF update from BMF CEO John Newcomb, then industry analyst/economist at BMF Nyssa Patel gave a market report on kitchens and bathrooms.

CEO of the BMA  Tom Reynolds and sales director of Roca Jamie Welch gave an economic and political update to members.

Experienced lecturer Renee Mascari of Mascari Design talked members through kitchen design and, in particular, the use of open living spaces.

Whereas training provider Cortexa Mark Parrish generated interest in the BMF Building Blocks courses and then sales and marketing director at Lakes Showering Spaces Mike Tattam highlighted the importance of showrooms.

Completing the day, national corporate account manager of Virtual Worlds Ben Roberts gave an interactive and entertaining look into the world of 4D showrooms and their benefits.

The forum closed with question and answer session, involving all the speakers, where members took the chance to discuss and share their own input in the points raised during the day.
