Boffi acquires De Padova

Luxury kitchen and bathroom brand buys furniture design company

High end brand for kitchens and bathrooms Boffi has acquired furniture design company De Padova.

Luca De Padova has acquired 7.5% of Boffi and becomes the company’s second largest shareholder.

Both brands will retain their identity but will collaborate to increase involvement in private and contract work, as according to Boffi the design industry is “now ever more integrated and interlinked for all the living areas”.

It means the group will be able to offer bathrooms to beds and storage systems, as well as kitchens through to upholstered and occasional furniture.

Luca De Padova has been named president of De Padova and vice president of Boffi and joins the board of directors, while Roberto Gavazzi is now CEO of Boffi and De Padova.

Talking about the merger Roberto Gavazzi said: “Over the past few years I had been courting Luca, convinced that the union of our two companies would create something extraordinary in terms of quality standards and product range, across a worldwide network of dedicated showrooms with each company’s strong brand identities and overall product quality helping both companies grow internationally.

“The alliance with De Padova is an important example of how two Italian companies are able to take on new global challenges together by creating an ambitious project of growth in a stable balance of resources and skills”.

Luca De Padova added: “The union with Boffi will further increase growth and development for De Padova worldwide within the design industry where Italy is considered as market leader. Thanks to a partner with a strong distribution network we will have higher visibility with new exhibiting spaces which are ever more difficult to achieve.

“I also believe in synergies on larger projects and in the possibility of creating and opening stores together that will represent both companies at their best.
