Built-in appliance specialist Bora is constructing a brand and product experience “world” in Herford, Germany, for retailers and consumers, which will open in September 2023.

Based in the German region renowned for kitchen furniture, Bora reports the new building is the next logical step in its growth strategy.

Measuring 2,000sqm, the building will be a permanent showroom for Bora and partners from the furnishing sector.

Designed like a wing, the outer shell and overhanging façade is clad in galvanised, perforated sheet metal with a range of hole sizes, creating a starry-sky-like impression from the inside.

Spanning over two floors, the Bora flagship store and exhibition area will be set into 10,000sqm grounds of green space.

Bora will lease exhibition space to businesses in construction, home living and furnishing industries.

Located on the edge of the B 239 and close to the A2, so is accessible for Küchenmeile visitors.

Bora founder and CEO Willi Bruckbauer commented: “We want to be close to our retail partners and enable as many prospective end customers as possible to enjoy the Bora Experience in person. We are therefore fully behind the investment in Herford as a new site”

The building will open a year-and-a-half after the ground-breaking ceremony, and in time for the Küchenmeile.
