Downdraft extractor manufacturer Bora has expanded its appliance portfolio with a steam oven, multi drawer, plus hob with integrated extractor at a new access point for the brand.

CEO of Bora Willi Bruckbauer established the company in 2007 and explained why it had entered a new product sector: “Now downdraft extractors are everywhere, and Bora is advancing in every country in Europe, and we’ve not done anything different to what we were doing 14 years ago.

“We’ve taken another look outside the box and thought what does the perfect oven look like?”

The company has now partnered with one of Germany’s professional oven manufacturers to create Bora X Bo, a handleless steam oven, where moist air is extracted, purified and recirculated into the room.

It boasts three steam functions, is Wi-Fi connected, has a four-zone temperature probe, plus a 19” touch display which can also operate the Bora multi-drawer.

The multi-drawer can be used for reheating or defrosting food, keeping meals warm or cooking at low temperatures.

Completing the trio of appliance launches is the Bora S Pure cooktop with an integrated extractor, which adds to its existing Bora Pure collection.

It measures 600mm wide, has four asymmetrical cooking zones with a choice of coloured inlets, and is priced at an entry level for the brand.

UK & Ireland sales manager for Bora, Andrew Cummings commented on the reaction to the launch: “The market has been watching with excitement to see what we did next.”

He added: “We are taking display orders hand over fist, at the moment. I think the S Pure is very exciting. It’s a new access point for our brand, so that is going to please many dealers who operate at the lower end.”

And Cummings said kitchen dealers were “in a frenzy” about the X Bo oven “because it’s so exciting.”

He explained why Bora UK was particularly enthusiastic about the oven launch, commenting:“I like using the term we’ve tamed the beast. We are bringing a commercial grade appliance into the home, for the discerning chef, for the connoisseur.”

All the latest Bora appliances will be available in the UK at the beginning of 2022.
