Appliance manufacturer wins third prize for program to conserve resources

Following its win at the Sirius awards, appliance manufacturer BSH has won third prize at the German Energy Agency for its Resource Efficiency 2015 program to conserve resources. 

The jury paid testament to BSH for the systematic, global implementation of more than 1,300 energy efficiency measures. BSH aims to reduce resource consumption across the whole company by 25% by 2015, using 2010 as a benchmark. 

The jury said: “BSH has succeeded in outstanding fashion in combining resource and energy efficiency with economic success.”

Dr Peter Bauer, head of resource management said: “With our resource-friendly production and our super-efficient household appliances, we are making a considerable contribution to climate protection. By now, we have been able to reduce our energy consumption by around 160 million kilowatt-hours per year with our resource efficiency program.”
