Third generation firm reaches septuagenarian status

British kitchen and bedroom furniture manufacturer Crown Imperial is set to celebrate its 70th anniversary in April 2016.

The third generation family business was established by Len Head and started life as a children’s toy and nursery furniture manufacturer.

It evolved its furniture offer and in 1965 Michael Head was appointed managing director and he led the company through the opening of a 10,000sq ft factory in Kent in 1987.

During the millennium, this was joined by the opening of the 15,000sq ft Daventry showroom, then the acquisition of the Waterline and Allied busineses.

Managing Director Barry Head commented on the anniversary “We are truly delighted to be celebrating such a significant landmark, 70 years is such an incredible achievement as a British furniture manufacturer. We would like to extend our special thanks to all our dedicated staff, retailers, suppliers and our customers and look forward to marking our special celebration throughout the year”.
