Independent merchant Duftons Plumbing & Heating Supplies has expanded its network with the opening of its 11th branch in the UK.

The Yorkshire-based merchant has opened its latest branch in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and created four new jobs in the local area.

To celebrate the opening, Duftons invited The Mayor of Barnsley, Cllr James Michael Stowe to officially open the new branch.

Over 60 people from the plumbing, heating and bathroom sectors attended the launch, with 25 suppliers present from companies including Ideal Standard, Polypipe and Stelrad.

Duftons offers a range of brands, specialises in bathroom mobility equipment, and has also expanded into renewable products.

These include underfloor heating, air source and ground source heat pumps, solar thermal and solar photovoltaic.

Sales director at Duftons Daniel Thackray said: “For the past four years, we have applied a real focus on the renewable sector with the vision to make energy efficiency a staple part of any new build and or retrofit project.”

Duftons also has branches in Leeds, Beeston, Castleford, Halifax, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Bingley, Bradford & Thirsk.

Commercial director at Duftons Jonathan Eyre added: “We are delighted to open our 11th branch in the UK. We know what the local installers really value in their choice of merchant partner and we cannot wait to welcome you to our new branch for all your plumbing and heating needs.”
