Fibo reaffirms sustainability commitment with ISO 14001

Fibo has achieved ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management at its factory and headquarters in Lyngdal, Norway.

Waterproof wall panels manufacturer Fibo has achieved ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management at its factory and headquarters in Lyngdal, Norway, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability.

The ISO 14001 standard outlines ways to help organisations identify, manage, monitor and improve their environmental performance, such as through a more efficient use of resources and/or a reduction in waste.

Speaking about the achievement, head of production at Fibo Gunnar Gabrielsen said: “All of us at Fibo are thrilled to now officially be certified as being compliant with the requirements of ISO 14001: 2015 – it’s credit to the hard work and dedication of our teams and colleagues in making this ambition a reality.

“t’s a never-ending journey – there’s always improvements to be made – but our achievement of ISO 14001 is an important milestone.”

Fibo’s has employed sustainable practices, such as reducing its plastic use by 50% since 2018, re-using wood waste to heat buildings and plants on site and investing in factory machinery to help improve its energy efficiency.

Manufactured with a birch plywood core, Fibo’s range of waterproof wall panels uses either PEFC or FSC certified timber, and is now available on Virtual World’s software.
