One-stop shop for renewable technology

The UK’s first dedicated renewable energy store, Green Square, has been opened in Raynes Park, London. It has been designed to offer homeowners a one-stop shop to discover and buy renewable energy technology. At its opening, pupils of Raynes Park High School prepared speeches about the importance of the environment and ‘educating’ adults that being green is as simple as child’s play.

Following the speeches, guests were invited to get ‘hands on’ and learn more about renewable energy through specifically developed videos on iPads and information points around the store. The points are said to explain everything a homeowner needs to know when considering going green.

The store is also equipped with products including Pellet Biomass Stoves, Biomass Boilers, Solar Thermal, Heat Pumps and the Xcel Heat Bank technology so shoppers can understand what they have been educated about.

Richard Hiblen, director of Green Square, commented: “I’ve worked in the industry for many years and found a lot of homeowners want to be more environmentally friendly, however they generally don’t know where to begin when making the move.

“The opening of Green Square means consumers now have all the information they need under one roof to make that step towards helping lower carbon emissions and benefiting both their pocket and the planet.”
