Group management changes at Electrolux

Change of President and CEO, head of EMEA and head of North America

Following the retirement of president and CEO of Electrolux Keith McLoughlin, the company has made changes to the group management with Jonas Samuelson takes over the role, from Feburary 1, 2016.

Samuelson, who joined the company in 2008, is currently head of Electrolux Major Appliances Europe, Middle East and Africa, and was previously head of Electrolux Global Operations. Prior to that, he held the role as group chief financial officer.

Keith McLoughlin commented: “With the dedication of the entire Electrolux team, we have strengthened this great company by substantially increasing our investments in consumer-ed innovation, focusing on profitable growth area and leveraging the scale of the company through global integration.

“With this strong foundation in place, and having a well-prepared internal successor in Jonas, it is now time for me to pass the baton and return to my family in the U.S.”

Chairman of the board of directors of Electrolux, Ronnie Leten added: “Keith has made significant contributions strengthening the company during his time as CEO. Under his leadership, Electrolux has successfully enhanced its position as an innovative globally integrated company, while strengthening the balance sheet. His personal integrity, commitment and loyalty to this company have been well appreciated.”

He continued: “The board is pleased that Jonas Samuelson will take on the role as president and CEO for the group. His focus will be to continue executing the Electrolux strategy of becoming a truly consumer driven company leveraging our global scale. With his background and proven results, I am certain he is the right next leader for Electrolux.”

The group management changes also see Daniel Arler appointed as head of major appliances Europe, Middle East and Africa and executive president of Electrolux AB. Arler has been promoted from his current position of senior vice president of the kitchen product line.

Former president of Husqvarna Consumer Brands division, Alan Shaw has been appointed head of major appliances North America and executive vice president of Electrolux AB.

Keith McLoughlin will continue to work with Electrolux in the North American market on a consultancy basis.
