Major appliance brand Haier has named tv chef and restauranteur Nisha Katona MBE as its brand ambassador.

Nisha Katona is the CEO, executive chef and development chef of Mowgli Street Food restaurants and founder of the Mowgli Trust charity.

Founded in 2014, she opened the first Mowgli Street Food restaurant in Liverpool and now has 18 restaurants across the UK.

She is the author of four cookbooks and received an MBE in the 2019 New Year Honours List for services in the Food Industry.

Katona films for the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, including Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge, Master Chef, Taste of Italy, Cooking with the Stars, and Great British Menu.

She also regularly appears as guest chef on ITV’s This Morning, Sunday Brunch, Lorraine, guest panelist on BBC Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet, and on BBC and Sky News as a guest expert on matters relating to business and hospitality.

The partnership will see the food expert and author promote Haier’s products across its portfolio of connected ovens, hobs, hoods refrigeration, and wine banks.

Nisha Katona will front campaigns across PR, advertising, competitions and events, as well as feature in social media imagery and videos created for these campaigns.

Katona said: “My mission is to enrich lives. I’m looking forward to continuing to do this by partnering with Haier, such a well-known and respected leader in its field.

“Helping people discover their capabilities, using Haier’s products, is something I’m really looking forward to doing.”

Haier recently launched Series 2 & 6 ranges of built-in ovens, hobs and hoods.
