Hansgrohe achieves record EURO 1billion sales

€1.029billion in sales across Hansgrohe and Axor brands

Germany brassware manufacturer Hansgrohe has achieve €1billion in sales for the first time in the company’s history.

Across its Axor and Hansgrohe brands, the company generated €1.029billion in sales, compared to €964million in the previous year, which corresponds to an increase of 6.7%.

In addition, EBITDA rose by 10.3% to €206.1million,from €186.8million in 2015, also hitting an all-time high.

Its native market showed an increase of 8.8%, however the Hansgrohe Group generated 80% of its revenue outside of Germany supplying products to 140 countries.

In 2016 60% of the company’s sales were generated in Europe and 40% in the rest of the world, with 14.3% growth in China. It cited a growth of hotel construction in China as attributing to the increase.

The company invested €42.9 million in 2016, with €30million spent on the expansion of its global logistics centre and €1.7million to create a plastics technology centre at Offenburg.

In addition, the Hansgrohe Group spent €4.6million on a research and development laboratory at its headquarters in Shiltach.

Chairman of the executive board Thomas Klapproth pointed to the company’s future goals: “In 2016 we not only left famous brands and manufacturers such as Apple and Daimler in the iF Company Ranking behind us, but also remained the only company in the sanitary industry with a Top Six position. Therefore we want to be the number one choice of trade partners as well as consumers.”
