Demand for kitchens and bathroom up 62% and 55%, respectively

Home renovation and design platform Houzz has announced an 80% increase, overall, in UK project leads for home professionals during July, as compared with the same period in 2019.

House builders and architects experienced an increase in demand of 129% and 113% respectively, with Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Essex, Hertfordhire and Greater London commanding the highest growth in project leads.

Insights on the types of projects homeowners pursued in July suggests consumers are looking for more usable space inside and outside the home.

Home extension projects more than quadrupled (up 331%), custom cabinetry tripled (up 263%) and interest in home remodelling grew by 26%.

Demand for kitchen and bathrooms increased by 62% and 55%, respectively.
