Hygena kitchens back on retail park

Kitchen furniture brand Hygena is set to return to the retail park in Homebase stores across the UK. The brand will include 26 furniture ranges, all which have a 10-year guarantee, plus over 100 storage, handle and lighting accessories.

Founded in the UK, Hygena became a dominant brand in kitchens from the 1960s through to the 1970s and was known as an economy brand in the 1980s.

The Hygena brand was sold in the 1980s in the UK by DIY chain MFI and has also been sold through concession through Curry’s electrical stores as “Hygena at Currys’.

However, following financial difficulties at MFI, the rights to the Hygena brand were sold.

Owner of Homebase and Argos, the Home Retail Group is now set to relaunch the kitchen brand in the UK.
