Part of a national refit programme
Distributor International Decorative Surfaces (IDS) has refurbished its Gateshead branch, as part of the company’s nationwide programme.
The showroom has been extended to create a 72sqm space, with a refit to showcase the company’s portfolio of worksurfaces, laminates, solid surfacing, flooring and bathroom panelling.
It now features more offices created on a mezzanine level, which also houses meeting rooms and a training facility.

Furthermore, the exterior signage is now displayed all around the building to provide visibility from the nearby A1.
Showroom development manager at IDS Hayley Fagan commented: “IDS has a constantly evolving portfolio so our policy is to keep all 13 of our showrooms up to date with products and to create the right customer experience. At Gateshead, it was timely to expand the showroom and office areas to accommodate our expansion in products, people and sales so that we can deliver the best possible service to our regional customers and local tradesmen.”
Sintered stone manufacturer Neolith has launched Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset, inspired by nature and classical architecture, and for use in kitchens or bathrooms walls, floors, in gardens or facades.
They belong to The New Classtone and Fusioncollections which interpret marble and natural stone, respectively, and boast Neolith’s antibacterial NeolEAT technology.
Inspired by Ancient Rome, Calacatta Roma (pictured top) pays homage to Italian Carrara marble, with ochre and grey veins in a white background.
While the Cappadocia region, in central Turkey, with its rock formations formed by volcanoes and underground cities, has inspired Cappadocia Sunset (pictured below).
Just like all of Neolith’s surfaces, Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset are resistant to heat and atmospheric conditions, are 100% recyclable, and do not contain added quartz to their formulation.
