Manufacturer of food waste disposers InSinkErator is supporting the first Food Waste Action Week which takes place March 1-7, 2021.
Food Waste Action Week is an initiative devised by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) that focusses on the message that ‘Wasting Food Feeds Climate Change’.
WRAP aims to encourage people to make lifestyle changes that benefit the environment by sharing statistics on the impact that food waste has on the world we live in.
For example, UK households throw away 4.5 million tonnes of edible food every year and wasted food accounts for more global greenhouse gas emissions than flying.
The initiative promotes reusing leftovers to create new dishes and storing food correctly to ensure all edible food is eaten.
