Plastic Free July is a global initiative that aims to reduce the environmental impact that single-use plastic waste has on land and in the oceans.

It provides tips on how to make changes at home, the workplace and communities in which we live.

In 2020, over 300 million people participated in Plastic Free July and helped prevent more than 900 million kilograms of plastic, such as single-use plastic bottles, being consumed according to the Plastic Foundation Report.

InSinkErator will share social media posts to increase the awareness of the initiative and arrange giveaways for consumers to win a 4N1 Touch tap, reusable insulated bottles and cotton shopping bags.

Marketing communications and customer service manager for Europe and Russia Anne Kaarlela said: “Sustainability and protecting the future of our planet are core values for us at InSinkErator.

“Plastic Free July is a great initiative, and we pledge our support to taking on the challenge, as well as increasing awareness of the project to encourage more people to make conscious choices to reduce their plastic water and protect the world we live in.

“Even the small and easy to implement changes can have an impact and make a real difference in the future.

“We’re provided InSinkErator staff members with a reusable shopper as well as giving away bags to consumers to support their efforts in Plastic Free July too.

“At InSinkErator, we will continue to educate consumers on the sustainable alternatives to plastic, while offering stylish appliances for modern living and busy lifestyles that offer resource savings and benefit the wider environment.”

The company also supported the first Food Waste Action Week, which took place in March 2021.
