IVC Group opens world’s largest vinyl floor factory

Factory will double capacity of worldwide production

Parent company of vinyl floor specialist, Moduleo UK and Eire, the IVC Group has launched a 21,000sqm factory at its global headquarters in Avelgem, Belgium.

The manufacturing facility will double its worldwide production as well as meeting increasing demand from architects, construction specifiers and consumers

The environmentally friendly facility has created 200 jobs and utilises sustainable energy from wind turbines and water from the Scheldt River for its cooling processes.

IVC will also launch its latest patented engineered flooring later in 2018, which can be laid on uneven surfaces and is the result of extensive research and development.

Managing director of Moduleo UK and Eire David Bigland commented: “Thanks to the brand-new, showcase factory, which boasts the latest lean manufacturing processes, we can produce higher quantities more efficiently. In addition, we are benefiting from doubled warehouse capacity and a conveyor bridge between production and logistics.

“Increasingly, designers and specifiers are looking at new and innovative ways to make a difference to their commercial and residential projects and hard-wearing, engineered floorcoverings can be a great way to maximise budgets and stand-out in a scheme, so it’s going to be a busy and exciting year.”
