Kbb industry donates to Ukraine charity appeals

BC Designs is donating £50 from every blue or yellow bath ts sells until the end the end of July, to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, set up by the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Managing director of BC Designs Darren Allison said: “Both the bravery of the Ukrainian people and the hardship they are currently facing has made a huge impact on the people working at BC Designs.

“We wanted to launch an idea that would hopefully raise funds towards the appeal, while also focusing in on the Ukrainian colours of the flag which have become synonymous with their plight.”

Employees of Roman have also donated essential items to people who are suffering in Ukraine and those escaping the war who have left with nothing.

David Osborne, CEO at Roman, commented: “We stand with the people of Ukraine and hope for a quick and peaceful resolution on behalf of all those who are suffering.”

In addition, The Marble Group which won £5,000 at a recent industry awards evening donated the amount to those affected by the war.

Owner Theo Constanti is the son of a refugee mother who fled the war in Cyprus in 1974 following the invasion of the country.

“One of the guests on our table was from Ukraine,” said Constanti. “So, I knew what I was going to do with the money if I won.

“We do lots of charitable work, including working with schools and making donations. It’s part of what we do as a business. It’s all about community and kindness”

He donated the money to the Just Giving campaign of British-Ukranian Aid, which is raising money for emergency medical supplies and first aid kits.

Amica, the Polish appliance giant that owns CDA, is supporting its employees from the Ukraine through the current crisis and is also helping refugee centres.

“We are happy to report that all our Ukraine employees are currently safe and well, commented UK  head of marketing Carrie Bell.

“We are keeping a close eye on the situation and are very concerned for our employees and all the people of the Ukraine.”
