Kitchens & Bathrooms News has published its first video, featuring award-winning designers offering their thoughts on the skills required for the role and providing advice for younger people.

Editor of Kitchens & Bathrooms News Philippa Turrell commented on the upcoming video series: “The increased demand for kitchens and bathrooms during the pandemic highlighted the skills gap in the kbb industry, with independent retail showrooms crying out for designers.

“Now is the right time to consider how to entice the next generation of kbb professionals and safeguard the future of the kitchen and bathroom industry.”

She continued: “As a leading trade magazine for the kitchen and bathroom industry, we believe it is our duty to bring through the next generation of professionals and want to take a leading role in this initiative.

Philippa Turrell urged the industry to support the initiative and help encourage young people to join the kitchen and bathroom industry.

“We cannot do this in isolation and would ask all kbb professionals to help boost the visibility of the kitchen and bathroom industry, by sharing our videos and suggesting young people to interview from their own companies.”
