Award-winning specialist retailer Kitchens International has created a commercial interiors design division – KI Contracts.

It has been created to cater for restaurants, hotels, cookery schools, shops and offices which require kitchens.

Designer Helen Taylor, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the retail and contact design market, is heading up the division.

KI Interiors has already worked on three Edinburgh-based commerical interior design projects.

The company has designed a contemporary look for Dust restaurant, refurbished the Martin Wilshart Cookery School and Dining Room, plus renovated the buffet dining and breakfast room at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

It has also completed private dining facilities, shop fittings, office fittings and individual commercial areas.

KI Interiors brand director Paul O’Brien said: “In every space that is being used by consumers, the interior is as important as the product on offer.

“Utilitarian and institutional designs are no longer acceptable in many hospitality, dining or retail facilities, which is why we saw the need to create this new commercial division.

“Our skills and experience from many years in kitchen design can be transferred easily to create commercial interiors that will excite our new customers.”

Kitchens International has expanded its team with a HR manager and contracts design manager.
