The developer expects to hand over the first phase, 158,000sqft by September 2019, and a further 100,000sqft could be constructed at a later date.

With a focus on sustainability, the development will include a Solar PV roof, which is claimed will generate up to 1MW and help Kohler Mira achieve its aim of being carbon neutral by 2035.

Vice president of manufacturing of Global Faucets at Kohler Co Wayne Walker said: “This purpose-built facility reflects both our continued investment in the UK and our commitment to sustainability and the environment.

“The new development is a result of both an increase in customer demand and the need to meet future business requirements, and makes us more agile and flexible to consumer needs.”

Mira recently celebrated the production of its two millionth Flight shower tray at its Hull plant.
