This accommodation also acts as a more permanent place for families to stay while soldiers are deployed overseas or on commitments in the UK.

The 3 Scots  battle group is the 3rd Battalion of The Royal Regiment of Scotland and is comprised of soldiers who have been deployed overseas and are in the final stages of training to become the lead element of the Very High Readiness task force.

Kitchen category manager for LochAnna Kitchens Sinead Trainor said: “For the team at The Kitchen Station to supply and install these kitchens completely free of charge is truly commendable and a fantastic demonstration of community spirit.

“We are delighted that they invited us to be part of this initiative.

“By supplying these contact houses with fully kitted out kitchens, families can enjoy the pleasures of cooking and socialising in a kitchen that is well designed, modern and comfortable.

“We hope that it provides them with a home away from home.”

LochAnna Kitchens recently expanded its portfolio with the launch of the Durham Collection, inspired by luxury country kitchens.

The LochAnna brand belongs to Faith Furniture Company (FFC) which manufactures and sells kitchen furniture through independent kitchen retailers throughout the UK..
