Company remains in discussion over future of business
Following the termination of its contract with Tesco, Bolton-based Mark Two has announced that it has laid off 200 members of staff and closed the Mark Two Home business.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “Tesco’s abrupt decision means that the Mark Two Home business is no longer viable in its current form and the home selling division has ceased to trade with immediate effect.”
The company is working with advisors about the release of monies owed to laid off staff and “remain in consultation with professional advisors to save the remainder of the business.”

The Mark Two Distribution business employs around 150 staff.
In relation to outstanding orders, Mark Two said earlier this week: “Mark Two is proud of its strong customer and business-to-business track record and believes it is uniquely placed, thanks to the time it’s already invested in planning for the logistics of supplying and fitting the kitchens and bathrooms with bespoke parts, to honour customers’ orders in the run up to Christmas. Mark Two hopes Tesco will work with it to ensure customers get the kitchens and bathrooms they have paid for.”
