Miele returns as British Library’s Food Season sponsor

Now in its seventh year, the Food Season has been created to celebrate people, stories and ideas shaping the way we eat.

Running until June, it features a programme of live talks, expert panels, workshops and tastings, all inspired by the British Library’s collection of cookbooks, manuscripts and culinary archives.

Food Season is curated by founder and head of the Eccles Institute for the Americas at the British Library Dr Polly Russell, with Angela Clutton and Melissa Thompson as co-directors.

Discussions span a variety of topics from “What is the point of a cookbook?” through to topical conversations such as “Ozempic Nation: Injecting Our Way Out of a Food Crisis”.

Highlights of the Food Season include “At the Legends’ Table” featuring chef director, Angela Hartnett  on  April 25, and Nadiya Hussain on “Writing Rooza” on May 15.

Marketing director for Miele GB Helen Pyman comments: “We’re delighted to once again support the British Library’s Food Season.

“The festival aligns with our passion for innovation, quality and sustainability — not only in appliances, but in the way we experience and understand food.”

Dr Polly Russell added: “Thanks to Miele’s continued support, the Food Season is able to grow in ambition and reach.

“The 2025 programme offers an extraordinary platform for exploring the intersections of food with identity, health, environment and storytelling.”
