The international award was established by the German Design Council to honour architectural and interior design products that are distinguished in design and performance.

As the name suggests Vinyl features the characteristics of a 1980s mixing console with a recessed basin acting as a record turntable.

The mixer, which resembles the stylus arm, includes a head cartridge and the “volume control” handles regulate flow and water temperature.

Beneath the basin, the furniture console has a drawer with a space for a Bluetooth amplifier and the metal frame is available in a choice of colours, with a laminated glass panel, towel rail and leather storage bag.

Completing Vinyl is a mirror with LED lights designed in a graphic equaliser pattern.

According to the company, Olympia Ceramica won this award “thanks to the ability to combine aesthetic sense and high performance in a unique product with a dash of irony and intelligence.”

Olympia Ceramica specialises in sanitaryware and has also garnered success with its My Bag and Beauty collections.
