For the first time, Caple displayed its appliances in furniture, MD Danny Lay explains

K&B News: What are you launching at the show?

Danny Lay (DL): We are launching 20 new products, including flagship refrigeration, cooker hoods, sinks, taps and wine cabinets.

K&B News: Can you explain why you’ve decided to show your appliances built-in to furniture for the first time?

DL: The typical customer we are showing to is a kitchen retailer. I think when a kitchen retailer visits a show it’s difficult for them to envisage an appliance that isn’t built into a kitchen. They want to see what it will look like in their showroom and also, eventually, in their customer’s home.

K&B News: Didn’t you win an award for your stand?

DL: Yes we won the Best Large Kitchen Stand Award. We are delighted with the display. It looks fantastic. The gentleman who designed it said it wasn’t a stand, it was a work of art. And I agree with him.

K&B News: How has the show been for you?

DL: The first two days have been very busy. I think we have probably broken previous records. I think the show is really great. It’s good to see many more people. We’ve had people from all over the country, including as far as Scotland. People are making a real effort to come to the show.
