Buying group numbers 20 members

The recently formed Plumbing & Heating Buying Group has passed the halfway point in its first year and Chairman David Pochin is delighted that it is now 20 members strong.

The concept sprang from 17 former CBA and Cemco members wanting to come together to form a group full of specialism, expertise and ethos.

David Pochin explained how he thought it would take a year to become a cohesive unit but “a robust operating structure was soon implemented around our Plumbing, Heating and Bathrooms committees and the group just hit the ground running, getting straight down to business and quickly agreeing common purchasing terms to the advantage of all.”

PHG has also developed its own bathroom products collection and own-brand committee chairman John Dicken (pictured – second right) said: “Our Instinct own brand offering has really hit the spot in a market craving value.”

Pochin concluded: “In the short term we shall concentrate on our negotiations for 2014 where we shall be offering our suppliers the opportunity to enjoy further growth with us.”
