Ripples aims to raise £20k in charity Snowdon climb

A group of 40 Ripples colleagues, family and friends will scale the mountain on June 27, 2024, to help the charity construct a school toilet block in India.

Located in an underdeveloped district of India, the Government Higher Secondary School P. Pudupatti has 140 girls and 15 female teachers, all who use a single squat pan in a dilapated building.

The Cycle is a not-for-profit organisation which works with communities in need across India and Africa for over 25 years.

It  helps to build safe, sustainable eco-toilets and clean water solutions as well as teaching period education and supplying sustainable period products to marginalised women and girls in rural communities.

The majority of its work is in Southern India and is led by its sister organisation, Sanitation First India.

Ripples 2024 fundraising challenge follows an event in 2023 which saw a group of Ripples employees, suppliers and friends complete a 4-day bike ride from Bath to Edinburgh, raising over £20,000 to support The Cycle.

Managing director of Ripples Paul Crow said: “We’re delighted to have already raised such a substantial amount of money to support The Cycle’s work; I personally visited several of the charity’s projects during a trip to India in February 2023 and saw first-hand the difference that donations can make.

“We hope this year’s fundraising event will help to generously add to the total we’ve already raised and make a big difference to the lives of the women and girls of P. Pudupatti school.”
