Located in the market town of Barnard Castle, Teeside, the museum houses the Silver Swan exhibit.

Originally built in the 1860s by the Queen’s Mother’s family – Bowes-Lyon – the building was styled as a French chateau and created as a purpose-built museum.

Roman Showers designed, manufactured and installed 10 bespoke screens for various areas of the museum, including the cafe, shop, offices and reception area.

All the screens were made out of 10mm glass with chromed brass fittings, with cut-out windows for the cafe counter and reception desks.

Roman Showers usually manufactures premium bath screens and enclosures, such as Liberty in Fluted Glass, for hotels and bathroom showroom consumers.

Assistant to the director of The Bowes Museum Leigh Shaw said: “We have been really impressed by the professionalism of Roman Showers and highly recommend them.

“Their advice and guidance has helped us swiftly put in place the correct screening around areas that need it in light of COVID-19, including our reception desk, tills in the shop and Cafe Bowes.

“Their products are of a high quality and were installed by a friendly and knowledgeable team.”

Managing director of Roman Showers David Osborne said: “The Bowes Museum is a national treasure. We are delighted to have been able to assist the reopening of one of the UK’s art world gems.”
