In a posthumous nomination, former training manager at Salamander Pumps Ken Vance was presented the Contribution to Skills and Training Award at the Pump Industry Awards 2022.
The award was in recognition of his efforts and dedication to the industry, which included the development of the Salamander E-School – online training which is now used by colleges, re-sellers and installers.
Using animations, the platform offers an interactive and accessible way to learn about Salamander Pumps’ products and their applications.
As a qualified plumber, Ken Vance was also responsible for delivering in-person training courses to colleges across the country.
Speaking about the award win, technical director at Salamander Pumps Gareth Richards said: “We’re very honoured to see Ken rewarded for his contribution to skills and training. Ken really lived and breathed the industry and Salamander Pumps, so it’s wonderful to see his efforts recognised in this way.
“Ken continues to be deeply missed by everyone here at Salamander Pumps, but this award feels like a fitting tribute to him, and we’re so thankful that his long-term partner Jemma and his Mum and Dad were able to be with us on the night to accept the award on his behalf.”
Salamander Pumps was also a finalist for Manufacturer of the Year at the Pump Industry Awards 2022.
