French kitchen furniture manufacturer Schmidt has opened its 30th showroom in the UK, located in the West Midlands.

It is owned by Earl Robinson, who trained as a telephone engineer and ran a pub prior to the pandemic, before making a move into the kitchen retail industry.

Having met the owners of a number of established Schmidt showrooms, Robinson set out to find suitable premises.

Two and a half years into the journey to establish a kitchen retail business, and following “intensive” training, he opened a Schmidt showroom in Mere Green, a small commercial centre in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield

The showroom boasts four kitchen displays, a utility room, and two dressing rooms, as well as space to discuss design, colours and finishes with customers.

In total, there are three members of staff at Schmidt and Robinson is currently recruiting an additional member to complete the team.

Established for more than 60 years, Schmidt has a network of more than 500 showrooms worldwide and offers over 200,000 possible combinations of kitchens.

The company is also rolling out virtual tours of its showrooms, nationwide.
