Claytan-owned bathroom manufacturer buys 6-acre site

British bathroom manufacturer Silverdale has purchased its premises and premises in Newcastle-under-Lyme for an undisclosed sum.

The company has been manufacturing sanitaryware on the site for around 35 years, creating models for brands which include Balterley, BC Sanitan, Vernon Tutbury and Jacuzzi.

It now markets all its sanitaryware under the Silverdale Bathrooms brand and has expanded its portfolio to include solid oak furniture, cast iron baths and hand-glazed tiles.

Comprising 95,500sq ft of offices and factory, the site also includes a 3,875sq ft showroom and training facility.

Since its acquisition by the Claytan Group in 2013, the company has won a listing with merchant buying network, the Fortis Group. Silverdale Bathrooms also supplies through independent bathroom specialists in the UK and has an export business.
